The concept of death is real in all the religions. It doesn’t matter which religion or which caste you are, death is real and it is inevitable…I appreciate the efforts of Daniel who wrote this piece in such a magical way and for the biblical quotations, the Muslims can also get to compare the similarities that sometimes exist in these 2 religions but we can also go back to refer more from what Allah (S.W.T) has to say in the Holy Quran.. Get motivated, Get in line!
Today marks 17 days since you left us. It hasn’t been easy, though we thank the Lord thus far. Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 states that “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot,” Your passing away has made death appear veritable to me. Occasionally, you receive the news that someone close to you has lost a loved one. You would then go extend your heart-felt condolences, sympathize with the family, and go back home completely oblivious to what has happened in that homestead and to those particular people. Though being on the receiving end this time made the whole experience all-too real.
The run towards your burial has been quite interesting. I have learnt a lot in this short period. Though all this has left me wondering whether I am really ready to die. I mean… No one wants to die, we all love life. Though if I happened to go today, would I be satisfied with the life that I have lived? Would I be ready to meet God? Hell is real!! It’s a scary thing to think for a moment that I won’t make it to Heaven. How long do we live? 70 or 80 years? 90+ years if you’re lucky enough. To those reading this, the odds are some of you will be dead 20 years from now, some of you will be dead 50 years from now, some of you will be be dead 30,40,60 years from now. We’re all going to die soon.
Life on earth is nothing but a test to see where we’ll spend our eternity, either Heaven or hell. This is not the life right now, your real stuff is inside you. Your body gets old, some of you will look in the mirror 30 years from now and won’t have teeth, your hair is leaving you, your body is becoming frail but your soul and spirit never die, that’s going to live forever. So your body is just housing your soul and spirit. The physical stuff doesn’t last for so long. Your house is going to be there, but the person who built it is going to be dead. There have been world-wide influential leaders, they’re all dead. After this one comes another one and yet more will come. We don’t own anything. Your children are not yours, your wife is not yours, your car, garden, money is not yours. You don’t own your children, you don’t own your family, we don’t own anything here, we’re just trustees.
So as I conclude I would like to tell you to make your days on earth count rather than counting the days. Live, love, laugh, pray, play, and have a good time. Life is too short to be miserable, you are here today and gone tomorrow. So if you happen to be alive and kicking, be grateful and seek to make the most out of you life. Love deeply from the heart, grab opportunities by the neck, learn and explore, enjoy the different cultures and personalities of people. Live life!!! Make a difference, Impact lives, Seek God, Live for Him!!
Abraham Hicks said, ” The reason you want every thing that you want is because you think you will feel really good when you get there. But, if you don’t feel good on your way there, you can’t get there. You have to be satisfied with what-is while you’re reaching for more.” Live your life and don’t compare yourself. No one has got it together, we’re all trying to figure life out. Make every minute count, every second worthwhile and every day a beautiful tale of it’s own. You are just as beautiful, wonderful and amazing as the person you think is way ahead of you. YOU ARE AWESOME!!!!!
